This is "chipmunk" site, where Atari owners can enter serial numbers of their Atari computers in database.
It is similar to www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html for Apple computers.
NOTES:
- after submiting new entry, you can add photos! (far right column in "Previous entries" table; latest are on bottom)
- serial number on bottom case of Atari computer and serial number on motherboard are DIFFERENT!
- database is simple json file (click to download). "unixtime" is unique ID for each entry.
- you can edit new entry next 30 days. If you wish to delete entry, please send me an email.
- email addresses will be know only to site owner (Milan Kovač). If you wish to contact someone, please ask Milan.
Pictures of computers are from website homecomputer.de by: Kerstin & Stefan Walgenbach. Many thanks!
To Do list:
- add "resolver" so you will get information like production year, month, factory... based on your serial number
- add "validator" if someone miss one or two digits
- I need specification of Atari serial number structure. For now I have only for Falcon. If you have more, email me.
- add sorting functionality to the table
Additional infos:
- PCB serial number "deciphering": link
- Y4 prefix is a code for EFA company and their Taiwanese subcontractor, Ta Yuan. Interestingly, both the original and C-Lab Falcons start with this prefix, i.e. C-Lab had literally just asked them to fire up machines again.
- main talk thread is at www.atari-forum.com also Falcon serial numbers
nyfinest: "Atari enthusiasts during the close of Atari we purchased some of the development systems used to create the Falcon Computer. We have had these in inventory for some time now and have decided to part ways with most. The Atari Sparrow development boards are numbered and are the original prototype of the system. These are being sold as (untested and not in a working condition). I have both the original development boards Atari used to the develop the ASIC’s (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and the Sparrow first prototype machine Atari engineers used to validate the system and software.
